I am an undergraduate student at Durham University and am undergoing a project which requires the use of RAxML, however every time I enter my aligned sequences in Phylip format I get the following error message:
Could not read data:
The file /tmp/nDleHE.phylip you want to open for reading does not exist, exiting ...

Can anyone help resolve my problem?

Thank you
Dan Carter

Hi Dan,

I guess RAxML error message is pretty straightforward, are you sure you have your alignment file /tmp/nDleHE.phylip
exists? If so, please double-check file permissions...

Best,
Alexey

could also be a missing incorrect path, it would be of great help if you
could also specify the raxml version and full comand line you used.

In addition, if you are working on a cluster, could it be that this is
the local disk of the node you are trying to access?
