Wit.AI also plans to support regional languages including Hindi later this year.

On a different note, I spoke with Airtel officials regarding the possibility of using SIP trunking for our service. They confirmed that connecting SIP to PSTN is illegal in India. Only PC-PC; PC-overseas PSTN (using only service providers licensed to operate in India); SIP-SIP are allowed.

Hence we will have to look for PRI based options. It would be really great if the team could finalize on one provider at the earliest so that I can start work on the deployment.

Unfortunately the Google Voice API isn't freely available for usage anymore
(since v2) and v3 is expected to be completely closed. They are currently
exposing it in a limited fashion for the sake of chromium developers.
 
However, wit.ai uses "several" engines, and Google voice has been part of
that list. So if they have a way of using it, this benefit will trickle
down the stack to our services.
