Is there a way to share a file and have the collaborators be able to edit as well? I currently don't see how to enable this function if there is a way. Was hoping it would work similarly to sharing Google docs. Please help.

No not yet. You can share scripts so that they can easily read and add notes, but collaborators cannot edit the text.
It'd be awesome if they could. Long term kinda plans.
