Hi Guys, I still have problems with highlights zone which come out burned out. When I try to correct the exposure/compressed exposure, the area becomes colored of magenta.
Any suggestion?
Best,
Beppe

1. If you are increasing the 'Exposure', try lifting the 'Compressed Exposure' instead (or use some of each).

2. Reduce Contrast slightly.

3. Try a different curve other than 'Film-like'.

This usually means that overexposed (clipped) pixels are incorrectly rendered magenta because of an erroneous raw sensor saturation value specified for your camera during raw conversion.  This error causes exposure scaling during white balancing to result in clipped highlights that are not neutral.

See:

For example.  You can manipulate this value using dcraw with the -s command line flag.

I should be more precise:

The dcraw command line flag “S” (capital S) not “s” (lower case s).

Thanks Kirk, appreciate it. For example, adobe camera raw compensate it in a certain way, where RPP does not. I'll check your suggestion..
Best,
Beppe
