Flood-prone areas within PMC jurisdiction

The most common spots where Pune city witnesses floods every monsoon is Sinhagad Road along Mutha river, Pulachiwadi in Deccan, slums at Kamgar Putla in Shivajinagar, Patil Estate.

In the recent past, PMC limits also witnessed flooding in Baner, Pashan and Aundh area where the nullah got flooded and water gushed into society premises. The same situation exists at some places in Yerawada and Mangalwar Peth.

Flood-prone areas in industrial township

There are several low-lying areas in Pimpri-Chinchwad where water enters houses and hutments during heavy rain. Some areas marked as sensitive by the civic administration include: Sanjay Gandhi slums, Bhatnagar, Ambedkar Colony, Ramabai Nagar (all in Pimpri), Pawarvasti in Dapodi, Hirabai slums in Kasarwadi, Anandvan Ashram area in Phugewadi, Sangvi, Mulanagar, Mudhuban Society area, Pimple Gurav, Kaspatevasti in Wakad.

Even Morya Gosavi temple in Chinchwad goes under water when the river is in full flow during heavy rain.
