PCMC proposes to designate the areas lying between the blue and red flood-lines as the restrictive zone where buildings can be constructed with certain conditions
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has proposed to make changes in the development control (DC) rules for allowing constructions in restricted areas between the high and low floodlines. The constructions would be allowed if conditions stipulated by the civic administration are followed.
The municipal corporation will invite public suggestions and objections for making changes in the development control rules. The proposal will then be sent to the state government for final approval.
Assistant commissioner and acting municipal secretary of the PCMC Dilip Gawde said the civic administration had tabled the proposal before the city improvement committee (CIC) at its meeting held on Monday.
The committee approved the proposal and has forwarded it to the civic general body (GB) for a final nod. The GB meeting will be held on June 20.
The state had issued directives to PCMC that floodlines be marked on the maps of the city DP.
