City Improvements Committee (CIC) wants more details about constructions within the floodlines in PCMC
the CIC has sought more details from the building permission department about encroachments and constructions within the floodlines in the city. The CIC would be finalizing a policy regarding building permissions in the high and low flood line areas. Shitole said the high and low floodlines have been demarcated by the state irrigation department.
According to the data provided by the building permission department to the city improvements committee, a total of 122 building permissions in the areas within the high and low floodlines had been issued up till August 2009. Thereafter, the department stopped giving permissions, said Shitole.
