Top of the morning to you all! I hope you're all on your secondsies or thirdsies or fourthsies by now. I'm writing because I have some updates to share, and a couple of requests that I'm hoping you can help me with!

Updates:
  1. Will and I live in Seattle again! We're in North Beacon Hill, near the Jose Rizal Bridge, and we'd love to see your sweet faces! He is working as an opto-mechanical engineer over in Redmond, and I'm working on starting a business on Capitol Hill.
  2. I'm working to start a business on Capitol Hill!! It's called Spacecraft, and it's essentially a community space for arts and crafts, targeting screen addicted grown-ups who want to establish a regular creative practice. I have a baby placeholder website up at spacecraftseattle.com, and I'm planning a soft opening in September and a grand opening in October!
  3. One of my best college friends is in a wonderful band called Late for the Train, and they're coming to Seattle to play a show on August 2nd. I'm trying to help them find a venue. There's a chance I'll have keys to my space by then, so it'd be super fun to host it there. I'm also looking into breweries, or the possibility of having them play at that Georgetown park with the cowboy boots.
Requests:
  1. Can we hang out?
  2. Can you help me get the word out about my business when it's time?
  3. Can you think of any venues that could be a good fit for Late for the Train on this short of notice?
  4. Will you come see their show either way if I tell you when it is?
I've thought of you all so much over the years and hope (and assume) you're all doing amazing things and following your dreams!!

So much love,

AlisOn

What up Ravenna country lane. This all sounds cool but I’m in a far away land. But look what I just found in my liquor cabinet: “Blackberry Chai Cordial” from country lane blackberries!

Hey Alison,

Welcome back! Great to hear about all the cool stuff you're up to! Like Evan, I also don't live in Seattle anymore, but I'm just down in Olympia. One place you could try to set up a show late in the game is Cafe Racer. I checked their calendar and they don't have anything Aug 2.

Good luck!
Colin

Thank you!!!

Late for the Train has decided to end their tour in Portland instead, unfortunately, but I've gotten to know a lot of booking agents in the process!

Also, if any of you locals are interested in playing at the Hat and Boots in Georgetown on Friday, I've got a great contact for you!

Love y'all. Keep the updates coming (if you want)!

From the archives, a rough draft of chicken bios for our Sekky Breaky farmstand....

Dovekins: Egg color: Burnt Tuscany

With her snow white feathers and dreamy eyes, Dovekins is known for being cuddly to humans but tyrannical to other chickens. A tumultuous adolescence, filled with new step sister drama and gossip, has been followed by a more relaxed and independent Dovekins. At any moment you might find her digging for worms, gossiping with her sisters, exploring a new corner of the coop, or taking a solo stroll. Only time will tell if Dovekins has truly been dethroned from her reign of terror, or if she will rise again.

Pumpernickel: Egg color: Nutmeg

The gentle giant, Pumpernickel holds her ground. She is a warrior of peace and justice in an often warring coop.

Tiff(any): Egg color: Periwinkle

If Tiff could be described in one word, one would have to choose resilience. Upon her arrival at the Second Breakfast coop she was the object of Dovekin’s tyrannical rule. Hostage in the coop for days on end, Tiff never lost hope that one day she would walk freely--to sip water, to hunt for worms, or take a stroll on the promenade. After tensions settled, Tiff proved to be a natural leader, guiding the ladies to the newest hot worm spot or on an adventure around the yard. Some speculate that Tiff was previously a sorority girl due to her luscious blonde feathers and fit bod, but such accusations have not (yet) been confirmed.

Judith Butler: Egg color: Speckled Toasty Hazelnut
