The dev team may already be aware, bu tthought these were interesting: 

dbreeze and stsdb

Pretty cool stuff!

Neither seems production ready, and I just picked at the code, but it wasn't nice.

Well, I'll admit that dbreeze isn't near prorduction ready - however, sts has been around for quite some time.  Was their codebase also tweaked out?  I like the fact that they have speed and the whole W-Tree notion.  In your opinion would it be a significant undertaking to port Raven to run on top of STSdb?  I haven't looked at either codebase in a while......  but I might give it a go if it's closer to trivial than months of work :)

Put simply, I don't trust the codebase.
If you want to, you can implement ITransactionalStorage on top of that, and we will probably accept the pull request.
