ATX (or CCH Small Firm Services) has started using Raven database engine as it's data store. past years I was able to use this software in a terminal server environment. As of now I can no longer get it to work. In the event viewer on both the server and workstation ( installed on a windows terminal server) I get the following errors:
Event ID: 489
"C:\ProgramData\CCH Small Firm Services\ATX2012\Data\DataStore\logs\RVN.log" for read only access failed with system error 32 (0x00000020): "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. ". The open file operation will fail with error -1032 (0xfffffbf8).
Event ID: 455
Raven (2876) C:\ProgramData\CCH Small Firm Services\ATX2012\Data\DataStore\Dataf68556f2-0920-41b9-aacf-714eea40b3b7: Error -1032 (0xfffffbf8) occurred while opening logfile C:\ProgramData\CCH Small Firm Services\ATX2012\Data\DataStore\logs\RVN.log.
I too am a customer. ATX/CCH will not help as they claim this violates their user agreement. In previous years they worked off of access and multiple users could log on a VPN or workstation at same time and access database. We need to find a way to allow raven to allow multiple users on same machine read/write at same time.

Did you resolve this? I was using ATX 2012 on a remote desktop server successfully until the 12.8 update came out on Friday. Now the first person logs in just fine but anyone else gets a LOGON ERROR that says, "The windows user X is currently running ATX on this workstation. X will need to login and close the application before you can start ATX. For workstations with multiple users, each user should close ATX before signing out of the computer." It is like they purposefully blocked this feature in the 12.8 update. I just installed and tested with 12.9 and that didn't fix anything. I talked to a Tech there on Saturday but he just said the license didn't support that. But it used to work! .... ??-Brian
