Withthe serial number of the radio you will generate the code on our website, so the first step is to identify it: For the newer models the Serial number can be found on the radio screen. You have to press and hold: Either 1 and 6 or 2 and 6 to see it.
For the older models the radio serial number is attached on the casting of the radio: Either on the back or the side of the radio. To remove the radio you will need removal tools. You have here an example for a VW radio.
For these we have pass on the cost to you guys and obviously make a living, but we guarantee you will not find your radio code cheaper anywhere on the internet and if you do, let us know and we will be happy match that price and refund you the difference.

From my previous threads, I yanked the radio in my 996 to put in a Mac Mini Carputer and don't have the code to go back. I'm caught in a spot where i've been too busy to move forward. I've had no music for about a month!
I've had some decode problems with this software too, but they were because the serial number on the sticker wasn't actually the serial number of the unit. I suggest you use the technique here to get the serial number (it also saves you having to remove the unit) -- paragraph 4:
When the first code didnt' work this morning, I tried just puntching buttons. It locked for about a minute at WAIT and then came back. I kept pressing and got into a WAIT which its been on now for about 14 hours. I go back outside and check it every couple of hours but still WAIT... I tried disconnecting the battery for a bit, no change. I'm getting impatient as I want to try the suggestions above. :)
If your Volkswagen radio displays "Safe Mode," finding and entering your VW radio codes will get it back in action. At Gunther Volkswagen Delray Beach, we understand how important your vehicle's advanced navigation, infotainment, and radio systems can be to your commuting satisfaction. Our service center makes it easy to reveal and unlock VW radio code access so that you can continue enjoying your car's features. Read on to learn more about finding your VW radio codes.
VW radio codes are a time-tested security feature. When your VW radio or navigation system detects a loss of power, it typically puts itself into Safe Mode, locking potential thieves out of the system's functions.
But, this security feature can be triggered if the vehicle's battery is disconnected during a routine service; we can find and enter the VW radio codes before returning your vehicle to you in such cases. However, you'll likely face the same situation if your battery goes flat.
The VW radio code is typically a four-digit PIN code, and the VW radio code list will typically be located in your owner's manual. Begin by opening your original owner's manual, then flip to the radio/navigation system section or the last page of the manual.
Unfortunately, these three locations are where the DIY solutions end. The next way to find VW radio codes is by having our skilled technicians remove the radio to check its serial number. Accessing a proprietary database is necessary to translate the radio's serial number or your car's VIN into a VW radio code.
First, note that the radio preset buttons will likely correspond to each of the four digits on screen (for example: radio preset "1" is used to change the first digit of your VW radio code). Each press of the same button will increase the displayed number; keep pressing until the first digit matches your specified radio code.
Next, use the scan/seek buttons to switch between digits, and repeat the previous step to put all four numbers into your radio. Once every number is displayed correctly, press and hold the "seek" button to enter your VW radio codes. If the code is correct, "Safe Mode" should disappear, and your radio will be ready to play again.
Your VW radio codes may be located in your owner's manual within the radio/navigation system section or on the last page. Your VW radio code may otherwise be on your vehicle's trunk opening, liftgate, or spare tire. If you can find your radio code in any of these locations, our VW service center can help get your radio back into action.
You can get your VW radio code by checking your owner's manual, trunk/cargo area, or spare tire. Removing the radio should reveal a serial number that can be translated into a VW radio code with our proprietary database if none of these areas display your radio code. Contact our service center for help with your VW radio codes.
In rare cases, a VW radio can be unlocked without a code by pressing and holding the "mode" and "on/off" buttons on your radio for five seconds. If this radio-reset procedure is unsuccessful, you'll need to find your VW radio codes on your owner's manual, trunk, spare tire, or by bringing your vehicle into our service center.
We offer you free access to our database of car radio codes for all makes of vehicles of our customer orders. This means that when an order is placed on our site you will find the serial number of the vehicle or the car radio as well as the security code to unlock it for free. You have free access to more than 50,000 car radio codes. To do this, select a brand below:
You need to look in your glove compartment inside your service booklet. It is possible that the car radio code is written on one of the pages. Also in the user manual of the original car radio, you can find the code printed inside the booklet.
Another way to find the car radio code for free is to try some of the factory default codes that are commonly used such as the code 0000 or the code 1234. You can find these codes online and they may work for your car radio. However, be aware that using the default codes can potentially block you from accessing your car radio if it has already been programmed with a different code.
If the serial number of your radio is not in our free code database, unfortunately you have no other solution than to go to a garage or via our online service available 7/7D 24/24h without disassembly for most radios.
Hi Ladies and Germs.....I have generated the 8 didget radio code off my CH341A chip using the reader and program....so far so good. The next trick is to some how get the code breaker program to get the actual radio safe code from the 8 diget number off the chip. I have tried for days to find a working program....I have spent more time into the days range searching for this program and a buddy has just given up after a 3 1/2 hours stint trying to help me.
So, if anyone has this code breaker program or can direct me to an actual operational program or where i can get it, it'll be greatly appreciated...to say the least! I have an old laptop all geared up and ready to receive the extra bugs and viruses etc etc that comes with the program so no worries there. I am so close to getting another problem solved regarding the winter machine.....at this rate it'll be ready for spring...lol.
No, I have been dealing with my injectors bleed back testing, then the wife had a serious issue with her car.....she couldn't get the door locks to work correctly....nearly had a meltdown..lol. So I have been pulled away from the radio as it's not even in the dash yet....the codes won't go bad will they? So as long as I have them I can get things organized as I'm told, she comes first so she says! She goes go out to work every day so maybe she's right..? Her door locks don't open when she turns the vehicle off or just the driver's door and not the passenger's and the passenger starts fighting to get out.....so with the wife trying to unlock the car from her side switch and her mother going insane trying to get out immediately...it's driven the wife also insane by the way she described her day.....lol. I'll get to my car again tomorrow....sorry to keep you waiting and thanks for the codes by the way!
Hello, welcome to the site.....easiest solution buy an aftermarket radio and install it, far easier imho. UNLESS you demand to keep it stock. IMHO, go over to
Evilution.co.uk and pay their lowest donation and research there. It is by far the best technical library of information on SmartCars. The only issue is, there is zero chatting ot asking questions. IF you can't figure it out on your own , contact Kane the owner of the site and ask him if he can help you out.
Like i said before, it can be done but it isn't easy. I simply wanted Bluetooth after learning what it meant to have it after not having it. I installed a simple radio using it's own fused power supply and new speaker wiring, simply as not to upset the car's electronics. It worked fine. You can also buy radio bezzles for cheap also...$20 or so off Ebay or such.
Hope this helps.
Again welcome

This example demonstrates code generation for a selected radio model. All input parameter validation is done on the server side and if the radio serial number has an invalid length or pattern - the service will return an error.
