Error When I Import CSV File

Just installed Rattle V2.3.1 from CRAN. I tired to open a csv file and
got the following error:

Error: bad restore file magic number (file may be corrupted) -- no
data loaded
In addition: Warning message:
file 'AM 1958 .csv' has magic number '"","W'
Use of save versions prior to 2 is deprecated

Any suggestions on what this means and how to get the import to work?
I get the same error for all CSV files that I have tried to import.
WinXp Pro OS and R 2.6.2. Thanks

Hi Tom,

You are probably attempting to use the "Open" button to load a CSV
file. This button is used to load saved Rattle projects, not data
files. That is why, when you click the Open button, CSV files will not
be shown by default and you would have needed to tell the dialogue to
show all files in order to see CSV files!

To load a CSV data file please click on the Filename button and then
select the file to load using the file system browser that pops up.
