Just switched to iPhone and wondering how I can automatically back up my SMS and MMS messages to Gmail. On Android, it's simple. Just use SMS Backup+ or something similar. However, I can't find any app to do this in the App Store. I don't want to jailbreak to do this, and I want to back up to Gmail, not iCloud or iTunes. Any thoughts?"

You may want to back up text messages from your iPhone to Gmail for different reasons. This article explains five step-by-step ways to complete the iPhone SMS backup to Gmail. Check the following instructions if you are eager to do this.

Way 2. How to Back Up iPhone SMS to Google Drive via Coolmuster iOS Assistant

Way 3. How to Save Text Messages from iPhone to Email via Google Drive App

Way 4. How to Make iPhone Text Message Backup to Gmail via the Messages App

Way 5. How to Back Up iMessages to Gmail via iTunes

After that, it will automatically sync your iPhone SMS to Gmail. However, some messages may fail to be forwarded to Gmail, or you may have problems viewing SMS no Gmail. In that case, you can try other ways to back up text messages on your iPhone.

If you want to selectively back up iMessages/SMS to Gmail, there is no better choice than Coolmuster iOS Assistant. It enables you to preview all the messages on your iPhone before exporting them onto your computer in readable formats like TEXT, CSV, and HTML. Besides, you can also back up the whole iPhone data to the computer in one click.

4. Visit google.com/gmail on your computer, click the Sign in button at the upper-right corner, and enter your Gmail account and password. Then, compose a new email, attach the exported messages as an attachment, and send it to your other email account.

You can also back up text messages and other files to Gmail via the Google Drive app. For that, you need to install the Google Drive app on your iPhone first. Then, use the iPhone app to back up text messages directly.

3. Press the Start Backup button. Then, it will back up all the iPhone data it supports to your Gmail account, including text messages, calendar events, photos & videos, and contacts.

The last way is a bit complicated. First, you need to back up your iPhone SMS/iMessages to a computer via iTunes. Then, transfer the backup file to an Android device and sync it to your Gmail account. You will need to use more than one app during the whole process.

Have you decided which way to choose after knowing how to back up text messages from iPhone to Gmail? As far as I reckon, Coolmuster iOS Assistant is the best way worth your consideration. It lets you preview all the text messages before syncing and choose the wanted messages to transfer. Moreover, you can read the HTML, CSV, or TEXT format messages in Gmail rather than messy codes. So, why not give it a try?

For your Windows PC:1. Open your browser and turn to drive.google.com.2. In the left navigation bar, select the storage option3. Select Backups in the top right corner of the open page.4. Enter the Backups interface to manage your documents.

For your Windows PC:1. Download and install Drive for desktop, then sign in to your Google account.2. Click the Settings option and then choose Preferences3. There are all kinds of data around our lives, like photos, Gmail, and various files, but accidents sometimes happen, such as hardware-software failures, virus or malware attacks, etc. Hence, it is necessary to back up and sync our files regularly.

4. From here, log in to your Google account, and you will see a list of items you can restore, such as your apps, call logs, device settings, etc. Since our phone was blank after the reset, select everything, click Restore and wait for it to finish.

3. Google Drive will compress the folders we selected into ZIP files and complete the download task. After that, we only need to unzip these folders to continue using the data inside.

You can backup files to Google Drive from iOS devices like iPhones or iPad, and you can even share files. Yet, we can't restore the backup from Google Drive to iOS devices directly because the Google Drive encryption protocol restricts the iOS system.

But we still have a solution to this dilemma. To accomplish this task, we need to use a third-party tool, such as an Android phone; we need to restore the backup data from Google Drive to Android and transfer the backup data from Android to iPhone using gmail.

For the sake of your data security, it is vital to grow the habit of backup, and how to restore a backup is equally important. In this article, we have discussed how to restore backup files from Google Drive on three different devices, these applied solutions are clear, simple, and effective, and we hope they can help you solve your doubts in this area.

No. Google provides two years for storing your files, and when your files are stored on Google Drive for more than two years, Google will automatically delete them; of course, Google will notify users at least three months before the deletion.

I have been using the Outlook app on iOS recently for my Gmail account with no issue. But today, I updated my Google password, then all of a sudden my Outlook app was not syncing with Gmail any longer. I reset the account through Outlook, deleted and re-added the account, and I even deleted the whole app from my iPhone and redownloaded it to start from scratch.

Every time I re-add my Gmail account to the Outlook app, it says "Downloading Your Messages" with a small bar at the bottom that says "Updating...", but nothing ever updates. I've let it sit for 30+ minutes and nothing is happening.

I have recently experienced this issue. From Monday 1 Aug at about 11am I spotted that I could send no messages. I use my outlook.com mail address from Windows Mail and Iphone Outlook App and it does nothing - so having been through virtually every step in the play book since the last complete remove and start again both of the above methods are sat in "updating" and not syncing at all.

One thing worked for me. I attempted to add a duplicate of the email account giving me problems. This account requires an Authenticator login from time to time and asked for me to fill in the security numbers. Once I did, it showed "duplicate accounts" and shut down adding the duplicate.

I had the same issue. Well similar. Got outlook on a new phone, said it was downloading for more than an hour, which is odd because I have a gigabit line. I deleted and reinstalled the app, after signing in it loaded all my mail almost instantly. Hope you can figure out a solution too!

I am having similar issues. Outlook for Mac loads perfectly for both my gmail accounts. Outlook on iPad and iPhone suddenly stopped loading emails. Have deleted and restored Outlook, Mail and followed all the other suggestions I have found, but iOS devices are still not receiving the emails. Instead I get a constant message that the emails are downloading, which never ends.

I am also having this issue.

Using the newest iphone gigamax whatever, everything updated.

Outlook on ios app around this last saturday gave me issues signing into one of my IMAP accounts. I have 7 emails I use through outlook, 1 outlook, 3 gmail, 3 custom IMAP domains. I can log into all accounts, but the 3 custom IMAP domains (running through gmail backend) are just stuck on "downloading messages". I've tried all sorts of uninstall, reinstall, remove outlook and other MS apps, etc, and nothing has worked. It appears to be an outlook problem as others are having the issue as well.

When this happens, many individuals need the messages captured quickly. Additionally, it's essential to save the text messages in a widely compatible document format, ensuring accessibility across various devices. This guarantees that both SMS and iMessages are archived and easily retrievable indefinitely.

Whether you have an iPhone or Android device, figuring out what the best options are to save text messages forever can be exhausting. If you want to be able to keep copies of important SMS text messages and/or Apple iMessages archived indefinitely, today's blog will help you accomplish that task!

Often times the need is sudden and the mobile user has an urgent deadline to transfer the text messages to their PC or Mac. For others, the need is more ongoing where the goal is to regularly save text messages on a weekly or monthly basis throughout the year for documentation purposes.

To copy iPhone text messages to your computer forever you'll need the desktop program Decipher TextMessage. When you run the software on your computer the program will automatically read in any existing iPhone backups that reside on your PC or Mac. You can then save the iPhone text messages as a PDF to your computer.

If you don't see your iPhone in the left-hand column of Decipher TextMessage, all you have to do is backup up the iPhone on your computer or click Add Device and then the next time you open Decipher TextMessage all your text messages and iMessages will be conveniently imported into the program and you can save the SMS messages and print them out.

Note: Decipher TextMessage has a unique "Messages Only" backup option in the menu of the program that will back up only your text message data and not your entire iPhone or iPad. This is helpful if you are worried about not having enough hard drive space to back up your iPhone.

Decipher TextMessage maintains its own text message and iMessage history on your PC or Mac. If you ever lose your mobile phone or your text messages are accidentally erased or deleted on your device, you can then still access all the SMS history that resides in Decipher TextMessage on your computer.
