Ratebeer - a crowd sourced database that doesn't give out API keys

So it seems after a quick look - Ratebeer is of course a crowd sourced service reliant upon the goodwill of the craft beer community to maintain it, yet you don't give out API keys to the public who created the service in the first place?

This is pretty far from ok.
