Morris is the manager of the JojaMart branch located in Pelican Town. He believes Joja will set a path of improvement to the Ferngill Republic - no matter the cost. Morris worked his way up to manager from within the company and prioritizes the store's success over his own. He's so dedicated he's spent his own money on store improvements and will work such long hours he sleeps under his desk, rather than go home.
The extra work Morris puts into the store isn't appreciated by his employees and many of the townspeople outside JojaMart shoppers Andy, Pam, and Jodi don't like him. Underneath his focus, Morris is lonely and exhausted. He hopes one day to find a place he feels he belongs and enjoy the comforts of life he longs for.
Morris always arrives to town before the player wakes at 6AM. He spends most of his morning waiting around Pelican Town for JojaMart to open. Some days he stands outside of Pierre's handing out coupons for the store. Once JojaMart opens, he will consistently stand in his office for the day. Once JojaMart closes at 11pm, he will make his way to the bus stop and leave just past 1AM.
After finishing the JojaMart route, and seeing all of Morris' 10 heart events, his schedule changes. He can be found outside of the store more often and only heads to his desk in JojaMart in the evenings. He also no longer leaves to the bus stop at night.
Morris cheerfully walks through Pelican Town greeting the villagers. A small conversation occurs between Morris and Mayor Lewis. Afterward, Morris walks up next to Pierre's Shop and wishes Pierre well, who doesn't respond. The Farmer runs into Morris on the bridge to Joja Mart. Morris asks if they are enjoying the beautiful weather, at which point the Farmer can respond:
Either way, Morris explains he is in good spirits because the president of Joja Corp is impressed with his work in the valley and alludes to potentially getting a promotion. The Farmerer is able to say:
Morris calls a staff meeting and explain to Shane, Sam, Martin, and Claire that the regional manager is coming by tomorrow to inspect the store. He gives the staff more work on top of their normal duties to make sure things are in shape for the big day. The staff then complains about the extra work and no extra pay.
If the Farmer chooses to stay out of the conversation, Morris just tells the employees to get back to work. If the Farmer says something, Morris questions how long they've been standing there. The Farmer can reply:
The Farmer comes across Morris trying to lock the door at Joja Mart. The Farmer offers to try and successfully locks the door. Morris explains he's been working all day and says he only needs five hours of sleep to keep him going. The Farmer can respond to this remark with two options:
Morris will explain that if you don't put in the hours, your dreams won't happen. He points out that the Farmer is also up at this hour, making their dreams a reality. Morris then states that Joja will make the valley greater than it is now and won't stop working towards that, no matter the cost.
You come across Morris at the Joja Warehouse explaining how they're moving their boxes in the warehouse. Morris gives Shane the rest of the day off and the Farmer has two options in response to Morris' gesture:
Morris arrives to inform the Farmer of news from Joja Headquarters. They have approved the construction of a movie theater to replace the Joja Warehouse - if Morris can find an investor. He tells the Farmer to come by his desk later to learn more.
Morris gives a speech to a small crowd in the town square. Morris tells them the town was in decay, taking credit for all the projects the Farmer paid to have fixed. He claims that under his leadership this decay was repaired and promises if elected he will continue to develop the town with modern infrastructure. Andy, Jodi, and Demetrius are particularly excited.
The whole village is gathered in the town square for voting day. Gunther from the Museum has been chosen to oversee the election and announces both candidates. He instructs the townspeople to use the two voting booths in the square to cast their ballot. Each villager casts their vote and the scene fades to a message by the Farmer saying they've cast their vote too.
Morris visits the Farmer's home and is impressed with the farmland. He has come by to inform them that he has finalized his development project for the village. Four days later the development projects will complete. If the player has not visited Pelican Town daily, this happens after 4 separate days going into town.
The village gather's in the town square again. Morris announces the Joja Public Works Project is complete. He lists off the changes to town, highlighting the opening of Joja Emporium, a new mini-mall behind JojaMart selling a variety of goods. Morris introduces the employees of Joja Emporium, and each one steps forward to say hello. He finishes the speech promising to dedicate his time to the care of the town.
