Junglee Nath Temple

Junglee Nath Temple is located in Bahraich of Uttar Pradesh. The
shrine - the oldest in the region - is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is
a sacred place for Tharu, a tribe community in the foothills of the
Himalayas. The shrine is about 6 km from Itaha Road near Gandharva
Lake.

Dargah Sharief

Dargah Sharief is situated 3 km north of Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh. It
is the tomb of Syyed Salar Masood Gazhi. This monument was constructed
by Firoz Shah Tuglak.

It is said that those who take bath in the water of this Majar Sharief
become cure from all skin diseases. A large fair is organized here
during summer in which large number of people participates.

Baghel Tal

Baghel Tal, a lake spread over an area of 14 km, is located in
Bahraich of Uttar Pradesh. Surrounded by paddy fields, dense bushes,
reeds and other plants, the lake is a haven for migratory birds. Birds
of rare species such as lalsar, pintel, malai, seeper, sandpyper
ringflover, and partridge can be spotted here.

The water from Baghel Tal flows into the Terhi River. It can be
approached by traveling on the Gonda-Bahraich Road.

Chittaura Jheel

Chittaura Jheel is a lake situated about 8 km from Bahraich - Gonda
Road. A small river, Teri Nadi, flows from this lake. Many migratory
birds are found here during August - October.

The ashram of Ashtwarka Muni, the Guru of Maharaja Janak is here. This
place has historical importance as a great battle was fought between
Maharaja Suheldev and Syyed Masood Gazi.

A large fair is held here on Vasant Panchami.
