Speaker: Ron Ridenour (CFI, CFIG, CFII, CFIMEI, A&P, IA, DPE, ATP) -   Ron is a Trustee for the Soaring Safety Foundation. Ron has been an FAA Examiner since 1975. He is also a very active competition glider pilot flying in 25 regional and national contests including 14 seniors. Ron holds two 500km speed triangle Illinois state records.  He is also an active glider instructor and tow pilot. 

Synopsis: In 2024 Ron purchased a Schempp-Hirth Arcus M two place motor-glider. The Arcus is a pleasure to fly and really performs well!  Let him tell you about my experiences with it.  Also he will speak about his multi-place speed Illinois state record which was flown on October 3rd of 2025.
