Ensure SeeYou Navigator is upating TFRs in U.S. - Clarification

I recently noted that my TFRs from SYN on either Iphones or Android were not updating or appearing.

After Paul Remde reminded me this... you must have this set: 

Settings->Airspace "SEEYOU DATABASE" slider ON 

Settings->Airspace "CUSTOM AIRSPACE" slider OFF

Out here in the Western U.S. we frequently fly with custom airspace for contests rather default to the Naviter version. The cost of doing this is that TFRs won't show up. I would probably be just fine using the Naviter version, since there is rarely not much if any difference.

Here is my reply to Naviter support. I suggested that SYN be modified to show TFRs regardless or whether one is using their version of airspace or custom airspace.

Regarding not seeing updated SYN FAA TFR airspace. RESOLVED
Paul Remde solved my problem. It was a mis-interpretation on my part of Settings->Airspace. Here is what happened:
I had CUSTOM DATABASE slider "ON" with a custom cub file.  When I turned the slider "OFF" and turned on  SeeYou Database to "ON", then the TFRs automatically appeared.

I made two incorrect assumptions. 1) SYN would display TFRs regardless of using CUSTOM or SEEYOU DATABASE.  In other words, the TFR cub file overlayed on whatever airspace you selected (CUSTOM or SEEYOU DATABSE).  2) I turned SEEYOU DATABASE off because I though it was referring to the Waypoint custom cup files.

It may be worth mentioning that the FAA requires us to ensure that we are using an EFB application properly, and with current data, per AC 120-76E, e.g. to avoid carrying paper sectionals, etc.

I use and love the Oudie N, less so the Oudie 2 I had prior, but, in addition I also use Foreflight on a suction-cup mounted iphone.  The phone can also run SeeYou Navigator as backup to the Oudie, but Foreflight is a trusted, mature platform used at all levels of professional aviation, that also stores to the cloud, defensible evidence that you did an electronic briefing, and performed electronic checklists. Briefing takes 30 seconds and is comprehensive. Checklists can include general preflight plus critical assembly.

Since I don't have Flarm, just a Mode C transponder, I also get live ADSB-in traffic on Foreflight's map, using a little USB stick dual-band receiver.  So Foreflight solves a couple issues for me, and is another device to manage, but it feels relatively infallible for up-to-date airspace/TFR situational awareness.
