Normally, wearing another glider pilot’s pants would be weird.
Flying another pilot’s glider, however, is completely normal, and considerably more fun.
Especially when the pants are an LS-6.
These are fast pants: comfortable on long cross-countries, flattering in a climb, and unlikely to embarrass you unless you fly them very poorly. No tailoring required, although registration and insurance are strongly recommended.
The ad has been up for a couple of months. Apparently everyone wants fast pants, but few want to admit they have been looking at another pilot’s pair, especially when he's wearing them.
These are 1985 LS-6 fast pants: proven on many successful cross-country flights, actively flown, well cared for, and ready for someone new to climb into them. I am still frequently wearing them this soaring season, but I'm happy to give them a wash and let you try them on.
They come equipped with:
Cambridge CAVII vario
Winter mechanical vario
Winter airspeed indicator
FSG71M radio
5V USB/USB-C power
Canopy cover
Tail dolly
Removed wing water-ballast bags, including all hardware and fittings
Insulated Schreder trailer
Annual inspection completed June 20, 2026, with no technical issues found. Total time is approximately 2,750 hours.
The gelcoat is honest 1985 gelcoat: presentable, serviceable, and not pretending it spent the last 40 years inside a climate-controlled museum. The trailer was cleaned, resealed, and repainted last year and is in good condition for storage and transport.
Located at Adirondack Soaring, Saratoga Springs, NY.
The ideal buyer is a younger pilot who wants the cool appeal of shopping vintage without the inconvenience of flying slowly. These 1985 fast pants may be older than their new owner, but they remain fully capable of passing newer fashions on course.
