I just read that the Amprius company is going into production with Silicon anode batteries that they claim have 80% or greater capacity than the common graphite anode. Aircraft is one of the primary markets mentioned in their website. https://amprius.com/ . I have sent this info to the LZ Design FES company.

I have been involved on a project their batteries before - the price is in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range for the quantity of cells you'd need for an electric self-launch glider.
Still, the future is coming.

I wonder if they have improved the number of charge cycles before degrading to 80% capacity.
I think it was only good for a a few hundred cycles.
This had been their issue as I saw it.
