Carolina Soaring Association participates in the SCAP program sponsored by
The Spartanburg Science center. We usually do three classes a year with 6 Students
in each class. The purpose of the program is to introduce High School Students
to careers in aviation that they might not be aware of. Several past students have
gone on to careers in aviation as a result of this class
Classes are given by various airport groups each class is 3-4 hours in duration
taught on a Sunday Afternoon.
Classes may include:
-Aircraft Mechanics
-Airport Administration
-General Aviation Aircraft Flight
-Aircraft Traffic Control
-Airport Design
-Drones
-Helicopters
-Balloons
-Glider Flights
-CAP
For the glider flights we give each student 2 winch launches.
