Hey guys changing equipment, is there a group for the HPH Shark, or SHARK MS?

Has anyone installed the optional steerable tailwheel on a Shark MS?

Thanks

Hi Kevin,

The steerable tailwheel conversion is an option. However, it's intended for the A&P or experienced person.

Best regards,

Sean

Yes, I understand that it is for a qualified person to install, the bird I am getting comes with the kit, and I am used to flying my 400 with a steerable tailwheel, particularly important flying out of the public airport that I have been flying out of.

I will now be primarily flying out of Mallards Landing GA04,  4500 x 100 grass. I have spoken to a few people that I respect that have said under that condition it is not necessary, but I would love to know if anyone especially in the south east had installed one.
One to find  an experienced qualified person that could install it, and to see how much difference it made to someone that did the upgrade.
The instructions clearly are more than just a bolt on project.

Thanks

That is the first conversion kit from HpH in the US that I'm aware of.

Cool, do you know if any were brought into the country with the steerable?

I will start out without the conversion and see how things go.  Sounds like there I will be ok, but landing on a public airport may be more challenging if I have to turn around some where .

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

The steerable tailwheel was developed later. The option was only offered recently.  I can't think of any single place Sharks in the US with them. My Twin Shark does. I'll have it at the Seniors and 20-Meter if you would like to check it out.

Thanks,

Sean
