I saw a note on social media about OLC ending on Sept. 22nd but no mention of that anywhere else. Is this for real?

Just in case somebody needs a detailed description about transfering your gliding performances from the OLC to WeGlide.

ciao,

You can transfer your flights from OLC to the WeGlide archive using an online procedure, thanks to a Dutch enthusiast who has created a special free service on the page https://olc2weglide.nl/

Requirements: you need to know your OLC identification number and your WeGlide identification number. You can find them in your profiles.

a) For the OLC, once you have logged in with your username and password, click on your name/profile and open “My Settings” from the menu. Your ID number will appear in the first few lines.
b) For WeGlide, log in with your username and password, then click on Profile (at the bottom left) and select Account from the menu. Your ID number will appear in the first few lines.

Now go to https://olc2weglide.nl/

Select the search period for your flights in the appropriate windows. OLC began in 1999. Break the period down into blocks of no more than 5 years, or even just a couple of years if you have a lot of flights on the archive. Enter your OLC ID where appropriate.

A search page will open. At the bottom, you'll see the sentence ‘Found OLC Flights’, and a list of your flights  within the previously selected time frame.

On the left, click the first box, top left, to select all of those flights. Scroll down and look for the bars where you'll have to enter your Weglide ID and your date of birth (on the left). On the right, enter your OLC USERNAME (registration name) and your OLC access password.

At the bottom of the page, click on the green "Upload to WeGlide" button, which will turn grey. At the end of the procedure, it will turn green again. There will be no confirmation message. The procedure is now complete.

Repeat for the other time windows.

I encourage us all to proceed within a few days, because although the closing date of the web page has not been indicated, the current OLC year will end on 22 September.

I have a question about WeGlide that I cannot seem to easily find the answer to.  Does WeGlide allow for the sorting and separation of your flights into separate years in the way that OLC did?  I find it helpful to know how many points or kilometers I have flown in the current year and to compare that to prior years.  However, unless I misunderstand the settings, or missed something in the tutorial,  WeGlide seems to mix all of my flights over all years into one continuous list/total.  Does anybody know how (or if) I can sort my flights into the current season? Does WeGlide even recognize a "current season"?
Thanks for any help
ROY

If you click on your "profile" you get one long list of your flights.  But if you click on "flights" and then search for yourself (by name) then, like all lists within the "flights" area, you can click on "season" at the top right and select, e.g., 2025.  The "season" starts in October, but if you click on "range" instead you can select, e.g., a calendar year.

If I understand your question, on the upper right hand corner of your Weglide page, click Season, then the year desired.  For soaring year 2025, your resultant page looks like this:  https://www.weglide.org/flight?user=Roy%2520Bourgeois,20511&season=2025.

Click "My Profile" (or Profile on a computer) > click "Flights as list" > Click the calendar icon on upper right hand side of screen (on a phone) > then there's 3 buttons for day, range and season.  Click season, and choose your season.  The 3 buttons appear automatically if you are going to Weglide on a laptop without having to click the calendar.  This will give your flights already set as the filter (your name will be in a light blue box).  You can delete your name  as a filter option and search anyone else or any airport or club as a basis for your search.

Fun fact, you can scroll all the way to the bottom to find out your totals for whatever date range you searched through and find your totals of that range. You can even do for locations or clubs.  So for El Tiro gliderport for the 2025 season there have been 54 different pilots, flying 47 different gliders on 125 days going 117,054 miles for 2,286 hrs with an average speed of 50 mph!  Note flying the same glider in 15m and 18m configs will be given as two different gliders.

Email me if that doesn't help.

Also, the Map and Statistics buttons at the lower RH corner are pretty cool.  "Map" plots the overlayed flight traces of all the flights listed above, for one or multiple pilots.  With "Statistics", the averaged stats on the last line might be enlightening and humbling.  For example, my averaged L/D (same glider) is somewhat lower than I thought.

Any recommendations?   My iPhone pictures are nowhere near as nice as what I see other people share.

Maybe this is a brand new feature - but after I press the search button, on the top right hand side there are three date related "filter" buttons :  Day, Range and Season.   Season is just year, so maybe not quite right in the southern hemisphere.

What iPhone do you have? My iPhone 16 takes much nicer pictures than my iPhone 6. Lately, I've thought about getting a Insta360 or similar camera, mounting it somewhere in the cockpit, and just letting it run all the time. After the flight, I can pick out the images I want.

I am wondering if there is some sort of a time limit for moving older flights to WeGlide.
I cannot move any flights from the year 2012 or earlier. "A problem occurred: list index out of range
Any ideas or advice would be appreciated

I guess I wasn't very clear.
I just today moved all of my flights from OLC to WeGlide up to 2012.
I get this message when attempting to retrieve : A problem occurred: list index out of range
Thank you all for your responses.

Doing one year at a time worked for me and helping couple other club members migrate theirs. So try put whatever year in both boxes and try that unless the server is jammed that should work for you.

I have been trying to transfer flights for a while now, with multiple errors and time outs. But finally last night I got them all to transfer from 2007 to present ( it would let me transfer anything earlier than 2007). I only did one year at a time, I had to correct all entries for N number and contest number (OLC would take anything in those boxes weglide will not. I had multiple years that had close to if not over 50 entries but it seemed to handle it well. Then again I didnt see if it actually got every flight over to weglide.
