Watch a condor race? I made a website.

All,

One of the more difficult things about condor is getting started. It's hard. And you need condor installed and operating to spectate a race. That's a problem.

So I solved that problem.

The US Soaring server (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) now broadcasts gliders to a website I made, map.condormap.com

The regatta start task we are flying on Tuesday is https://map.condormap.com/?taskid=2

On Thursday its https://map.condormap.com/?taskid=25

Flights are
Tuesday - [5p PT], [6p MT], [7p CT], [8p ET], [12a UTC(wed)]
Thursday - [6p PT], [7p MT], [8p CT], [9p ET], [1a UTC(fri)]

You should come watch. Yes you!

Also, the website has been up for only one race so far so there may be bugs!

And, if you want to come fly head to https://www.condor.club/comp/show/0/?id=872 read that, create an account, install condor, and come fly.

You can also stream your screen in Discord, and someone with discord, but that doesn't have Condor, can watch. If multiple people in the same flying event do this the observer can jump from plane to plane even. 

All of this was true for Condor 2, I've got no first hand knowledge if it also works on Condor 3 and Discord, but I'd assume so.

Chris, you are correct. Players can stream via discord but they have to be flying and doing it. And someone has to watch it. If no one is watching then no one is streaming, etc etc.

For this website, it shows all positions with the task and also writes them to a database so in the future it will enable replays, flight analysis, etc.

It may eventually also show every glider in every condor server in the world, with the task they are flying. Sort of like a live map.
