2 great flight in AZ on thursday

#1 Zach Yamauchi overcame a slow start and executed (we believe to be) the first 1000km soaring flight originating in AZ.  Unfortunately and despite launching out of El Tiro, Zach isn't a Tucson Soaring club member so we aren't really that impressed. Jealous maybe, but not impressed :-)
Congrats Zach and, just, wow! 

#2 Bryce Sammeter achieved a Diamond Altitude Gain.  Bryce launched out of El Tiro, flew to Gila Bend (~800ft msl), dove down to about 1200ft, got back up and flew out east where conditions were rocking and then thermalled up to ~17,800ft.  I hope his loggers are in good shape because SeeYou says he achieved a 16,650ft gain - thermals only and all under Class A!  

Congrats Bryce and, again, wow!
