Meeting Topic: Understanding FLARM
Synopsis: Many are unsure how the FLARM system operates, how to configure it, how to properly register it, and how to keep it up to date. Do you? Do you understand what kind of data that their glider's FLARM device is broadcasting to other gliders? Or how does your Contest ID (rather than some alpha-numeric "trash") shown properly on our moving map display? Is FLARM really all that complicated? This presentation will shed some light on your questions.
Speaker: John DeRosa (OHM)Biography: John DeRosa has been a mediocre glider pilot for 25+ years and owns a Schleicher ASW-27B. His glider related presentations can be found at aviation.derosaweb.net/presentations a few of which have bored audiences at several Soaring Society of America conventions.
