Come Fly Region 4 North This October

Looking for one more great soaring week before the season ends? Join us for the return of the Region 4 North Contest, October 4–10, 2026, hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Soaring Association at W73 in Fairfield, Pennsylvania.
October is a spectacular time to fly in the Mid-Atlantic. The summer heat has eased, the fall colors are emerging, and the region can offer an exceptional variety of ridge, wave, and thermal soaring—all in the same contest week. W73 is an outstanding contest site, with two grass runways, a paved runway, excellent facilities, and abundant landable fields throughout the surrounding area. It is challenging enough for experienced competitors, but also forgiving and welcoming for pilots considering their first regional contest.
We are also fortunate to have Erik Mann returning as Contest Director. Erik is one of the more experienced CDs in the country, and this contest will be safe, well organized, competitive, and enjoyable. Come to Fairfield to race for the podium, sharpening your cross-country skills, or simply the bratwurst Octoberfest celebration. It will be a memorable week of great flying and camaraderie with fellow pilots. M-ASA will work hard to make this a contest worth attending.
