Hello - I have a couple questions about JAmaSeis:

1) How to install it on the RaspberryShake?

2) How to connect a PC running JAmaSeis to a RaspberryShake, where the RShake is a Remote unit?

Any ideas and comments appreciated.

Hi Whit:

Great questions. I have updated the manual. Please check it and see if you have any more questions: http://manual.raspberryshake.org/traces.html. Notice that I have restructured things to make it all a bit more self-explanatory. It should be obvious now (which it was not before) that jAmaSeis runs on your local desktop or laptop computer and not on your Raspberry Shake.

Branden - I must be missing something.

When I Add Source and go to the RaspberryShake source window, it asks for a SeedLink IP:port. Neither raspberryshake.local nor my actual local IP seems to work. The Get Stations button stays grayed out.

Also, all I can find is a "quickstart" guide for the JAmaSeis. Is there a more in-depth manual?

I have additional questions concerning the RShake but I'll try to work through this first.

Yes, I can see my shake (raspberryshake.local:18000) and I can see the NZ GeoNet network (link.geonet.org.nz:18000),
but if I enter raspberryshakedata.com:16032 as a SeedLink source, the program can't access it - it says there is no response to "Hello".
I guess there is a difference between the RS Winston server (Port 16032) and a SeedLink source (Port 18000)?
Can you explain please?

TideMan:

Indeed, jAmaSeis connects to Raspberry Shake's SeedLink server which operated on port 18000 and not to Raspberry Shake's OSOP Wave Server which operates on port 16032. I will make this more explicit in the manual.

Hi Whit:

What are you entering for the port? 18000 or 16032?

The link for the full jAmaSeis manual is included in our manual. It is: https://www.iris.edu/hq/Wiki/jAmaSeis_Manual

Whit:

Instead of using "raspberryshake.local:18000", please try "<actual_IP_of_raspberryshake:5000"

Hi Branden - Problem solved. It was being blocked by Windows Firewall. I added the JAmaSeis app to the list of allowed apps and that fixed it.
