--Looks impressive! With 3 geophone sensors and a 3-axis accelerometer, I would think you have six channels of data, so I guess the 4 ADC units are multiplexed somehow? The 100 Hz sample rate will see more of the "cultural noise" signatures, if that's of interest. I expect that level of hardware will be out of my price range but I look forward to reading more about it.

Can you give some indication of how much higher the noise floor of the 3-axis MEMS accelerometer is, as compared with the geophone?
And/or, how close would a M3, M4, M5 EQ have to be for it to come out of the noise on the accel signal?
There is is already an app http://myshake.berkeley.edu/ at uses a cellphone accel sensor for sensing and reporting local quakes; I gather the Shake 4D would have similar output but without needing to tie up your phone (?)
Hi Branden,Thank you for your reply and those plots. It looks like for that size of quake, you've got a great matchup between your Nanometrics and the Shake device. I am in San Jose CA, about 16 km away from the San Andreas fault line, so yes there is a quite good chance of strong motion here, if you wait long enough :-). It seems to me the X-Y-Z accelerometer data might also be good if you're interested in the exact forces that buildings experience during a quake, at least more useful than the Z-only geophone which will go offscale with strong motion.
