At last... after almost a year... a new release!

This release contains:
  • Linux 3.6.11 containing the latest patches (2 Oct 2013)
  • Rpi GPU firmware of 2 Nov 2013
  • Both 256MB and 512MB RAM versions are supported
  • More stable sdcard support
  • And much more

Grab the sources from here or download a pre-build image for a quick test from here.

Happy Rpi hacking!

Grtz,

Nathan.

Hello Nathan,

I have install the openwrt firmware release 0.3 for my Raspberry Pi. But I have problem when I use the WiFi stick from LogiLink (RT3057), the error message looks like this:

[  710.517716] ieee80211 phy0: rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Info - Loading firmware file 'rt2870.bin'
[  710.560736] ieee80211 phy0: rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Info - Firmware detected - version: 0.29
[  760.628081] ieee80211 phy0: rt2x00usb_vendor_request: Error - Vendor Request 0x07 failed for offset 0x7010 with error -110

It seem that the driver can not correctly load the firmware for the RT3057. My question is that do you use the 3.6.11 linux kernel source from https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux ? Because it is working good with this wifi dongle.

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Xue Liu

Hi Xue Liu,

where using the 3.6.11 kernel with the patches from the raspberrypi kernel (github).
The only difference is that we use the compat wireless drivers and not the included kernel drivers.
(this because its an openwrt build environment)

You could run a diff between the two drivers and try to solve it by patching it or upgrading
to a newer version. An other option is to adjust the kernel settings to your needs and disable
the kernel modules from the openwrt build settings.

I hope this helps you on your way.

sorry for the late reply.

Regards,

Jeffrey
