Power requirements for pi zero w with noir camera

I have a couple of pi zero w headless devices, and a couple of noir infrared cameras with the add-on IR LEDs.
I've tried about seven different micro usb cables, and I'm now on my fourth 2.4a power supply, but I can't seem to get either of them to work with the IR LEDs connected. I've resorted to getting an external IR LED lamp, but it's not ideal.
Any suggestions on a power supply and cable with enough power?
