This also worked for me. Just as a heads up, this was caused due to the fact I did not have a locale setup. I followed the steps on the Arch wiki page for Locale and I can now use minecraft-launcher normally, without prepending LC_ALL=C.

I have two friends who often play minecraft on my computer. They don't have their own accounts, but they want their worlds separate from mine without the hassle of moving around save files. I have already set up two new profiles like this:

Jack has one world, spartacus. Ethan has two worlds, City and Tests. I have one world, Pure survival. I want them and me to be able to get to their worlds, and only our worlds when we select our profiles in the new launcher, no save file moving involved. How can I do this? I am confident that this is able to be done in the new launcher, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Here is what I have already tried: I tried making a main-Minecraft file in the roaming directory, which contained three folders, each labeled with the name of me and my friends. Inside each of these files is a copy of the .minecraft folder, each saves folder containing each of me and my friends worlds. I was extremely sketchy about this though, as I didn't know if it would corrupt the game.

Go to "Edit Profile", and check "Game Directory" for each profile. The game will create new folders for saves, resourcepacks and logs. It will continue to use the appropriate version you selected for the profile (found in the "versions" folder), rather than download the game files again.

Why not just run a local server? You could have 3, use the same client, and whenever one of your friends logs on, he just starts his own server. This also allows for you to use easy plugins, specially if running a bukkit server (its REALLY easy).Comment if you wanna know how to.

I noticed some odd dependencies - dependencies that don't seem to be needed for the modern launcher. In particular, the java-runtime one - I edited PKGBUILD on my machine to remove java-runtime, with no ill effect.

Yeah, maybe that's fine, now that I'm not really using Bluetooth audio, one thing PulseAudio doesn't really do properly. PulseAudio just has SBC, and all other codecs are pending a potential future release of GStreamer that may or may not come in the next decade.

@kode54 Or maybe just ditch that shit and switch to PulseAudio. Some time ago, audio on Linux was a nightmare. Then PulseAudio came and fixed it. Everything was working fine until someone decided a working system needed fixing. Now Pipewire is here to bring the nightmare back.

The annoying workaround is to use the graph in something like Carla, qpwgraph, or Helvum, to connect the OpenAL sound source to your sound output device. Or your output graph, if you're using EasyEffects.

I don't know if this is the correct website to ask this (I also asked in the forums), but I created a Minecraft launcher from scratch (not with Java). Everything works and I can launch Minecraft, but it starts in offline-mode everytime. I used a batch-code to start the minecraft.jar in the .minecraft-Folder. I know there is a way to launch Minecraft with parameters using the Minecraft-Launcher, but that way I can't change the Minecraft-Directory (from .minecraft to .minecraft2). Is there any way to connect to Minecraft.net and to login and launch Minecraft using batch or Visual Basic? Thank you so much!

Or, if you really feel like it, you can obtain your very own session key by querying the login API directly, parsing your session ID and exact username from it, and launching minecraft directly (bypassing the launcher) with:

You can specify absolute paths for the minecraft jars, and if you do not, they must be relative to the working directory. To specify a relative path for the natives directory, use something like .\This\Folder\Relative\To\Working\Dir

Ive been having a really hard time trying to solve what is causing my minecraft forge to crash when attempting to play, immediately after i press play it crashes. I deleted all my mods and currently have none in my mods folder so i know it has nothing to do with outdated mods or mods in general, its forge. I can still play vanilla minecraft.

It is still not working for me too unfortunately, and i have tried reaching out directly to get support from forge off of the curse forge website but they did not help and instead redirected me here again where my problem remains unsolved, id appreciate it if someone could reach out to me and help, as many others i have encountered online are having the same problem .

I was also having this issue, and read elsewhere that it was due to AMD Ryzen graphics drivers needing an update. Updated mine and it took care of the issue for me. Hope this helps for you guys as well. Good luck!!

- Saw this post and yes, I did have indeed an update on my ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX (Nvidia) card, updated this one, rebooted pc, tried with forge without and with mod and several different versions

So yes, I guess I have to stop playing this game .... just now I have made a server for my son to play on together with me .... As there is no issue when forge is not involved it must be something related with forge.

JarJar is the name for Forge's jar-in-jar system. Basically, mods can embed dependencies and libraries inside their mod jar. These log messages are saying it already found the required deps as normal jars and will be using those instead of embedded ones, nothing to worry about.

I copied and pasted my crash log in the pastebin website following your instructions, heres the link: hopefully i did it right and inserted the right crash log, I followed your instructions on how to find the debug.logs and just clicked on the most recent one, but i can just try starting up minecraft with forge again to get a new crash report and copy and paste that to be sure it's the right one. Heres the log right after the game crashed:

My graphics drivers are up to date as far as checking in the windows system settings, i just downloaded drivers for my nvidea graphics card but unfortunately it still crashed with an exit code 1. here is the crash log in pastebin, right after I downloaded the drivers:

Curseforge also has two different ways of allocating RAM. The first way would be to set the default RAM for the launcher as a general setting that applies to all profiles unless overridden by individual profile settings. The second would be to set the RAM for a specific profile in the profile settings
