IEEE Robotics & Automation Society 10 JULY 2015 IEEE Robotics & Automation Society (RAS) Constitution and Bylaws Revisions A number of amendments have been made to update the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society's Constitution and Bylaws. These amendments have been approved by both the RAS Administrative Committee (AdCom) and the Vice President, IEEE Technical Activities, in accordance with Article XI of the Constitution. The Bylaw amendments will take effect on  10 August 2015. The Constitution amendments will take effect  10 September 2015 unless at least five percent of the voting members of the Society object in writing within 60 days of this notice. RAS Constitution - Summary of Changes Article II, Section 2 – Editorial change to comply with IEEE policy Article III, Section 1 – Editorial change to eliminate redundancy Article IV, Section 1 – Editorial change for consistency with IEEE documents Article V, Section 5 – Addition of language regarding Removal of a Member of the AdCom or Member of a Standing Committee Article V, Section 10 – Editorial change to bring into compliance with IEEE policy Article XI, Section 2 – Editorial changes to comply with IEEE policy and to update requirements Article XI, Section 4 – Editorial change to update requirements   Revised Constitution Current Constitution RAS Bylaws - Summary of Changes Bylaw II- Elections Section 2.01 – Editorial changes, changing due date of AdCom nomination slate approval from April 1 to June 30. Section 2.03 – Adding 1.5 times rules to slate requirements Section 2.05 – editorial changes regarding member eligibility Sections 2.06 and 2.07 – changes regarding diversity in selection factors Bylaw III – Duties of Executive Officers Sections 3.04 – 3.12 - Changes regarding duties of Vice Presidents and EiC's Bylaw IV – The Administrative Committee Section 4.02 – Change to date for Annual Meeting Section 4.03 – Removal of "tentative actions may be taken without a quorum" language, as this is not allowed Section 4.04 – Removal of entire section, as we recommend that the Order of Business not be included in governing documents.
