Like other self-monitored systems, you get security alerts and call the police through the app. You can also add other Nest products like cameras, thermostats, and the Protect smoke and CO alarm to your system from your phone.
The 3rd Generation Nest thermostat retails for 219 (and can be found cheaper) or 279 with professional installation (plus another 35 if you want a table stand for it.) There's also the slightly cheaper Nest Thermostat E, at 199, which tops our list of the best smart thermostats.
Long ago I had a coworker who would occasionally nap under her desk in her shared office when she had really bad cramps (because she knew she would feel better after lying down for 20 minutes and the room that should have been set aside for that was being used as lab space).
Normally both napping at work and making a nest would be not OK, but we were so crammed for space and she had a reputation as a *very* hard worker, so we all just politely ignored it.
if it is clean and she understands the capital she may be giving up, what is the downside? She needs to never have clients in her office, but honestly, just move the stuff to a couch and it solves the issue. I think the floor part is most concerning for higher ups. She she does have a back issue, then they need to give her a better chair or this is the accommodation. HR can decide how many pillows and excess is too much with rules for not taking over too much space that her office mate may need.
Yes, this is what I came here to say. I design offices. Commercial furnishings have fabrics that are fire-rated and cleanable. Blankets do not. There are reasons beyond look and perception that an employee might be asked to remove a nest.
I bet a modified nest could be made to work. When I worked at a law firm that was always kept freezing, I worked wrapped in a plug in heated blanket. And sometimes had another blanket around my shoulders.
Bird nests use feathers, grass, twigs, and straws to make their nest which can cause a lot of mess. In addition, birds carry germs that can affect indoor air quality. Bird nests can even prevent your AC from functioning optimally. Chirping birds outside your room can also disturb your sleep.
The materials used by birds to make their nest, such as twigs, straws are highly combustible. In case of a short circuit, the nest can catch fire and damage your air conditioning unit. It can also injure birds. Moreover, the fire can also rapidly spread to other areas in your home.
If you see eggs and birds inside a nest, do not attempt to remove it. Also, you might not be able to remove the nest with the egg inside it safely. In this case, you can contact a bird removal service or wait until the nesting period is over. Most species are protected against Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), so avoid using any force against birds.
Use a mixture of vinegar and water, or you can also use bleach to prevent birds from nesting in your AC. Take a piece of cloth and wipe down your air conditioner; this practice might serve the purpose well.
When the birds are nesting during spring and summer, you can keep your AC fan running continuously. A running unit is likely to frighten birds, preventing them from making a nest in your air conditioner.
Also, check the gaps in the window ACs. You can find small bird nests in window air conditioners. Use foam insulation to fill the gaps. You can also opt for foam strips. Cut the foam strips according to the size of the gap and use them to fill the space.
I don't know if LED makes a difference but, YES! do try replacing the fuse! I stumbled onto that last year. Some decorations are so inexpensive it may not seem worth fussing with, although it's SO easy to check, and keeping them out of the landfill is important to me. But others, as my Front-Gate wreath that honestly isn't worth what I paid, are worth an attempted rescue. In that case, 1/4 of the wreath wasn't lighted. I replaced the fuse in that plug (there are 4 in the wreath) and it's good as new. Makes me wonder how many 'good finds' there are to be had at the little thrift store down the road! Merry Christmas!!
