Elected as Board member International Alliance of Patient Organisations

[IAPG]

Dear All,

I am very pleased to share that I have been elected to a board position on the International Alliance of Patient Organisations (IAPO) https://www.iapo.org.uk/ an organisation that works on Patient Centred Healthcare and brings the global voice of patients across all regions to the advocacy platform.

 

I see this as a very good opportunity to include the patient voice in our policy and advocacy agenda for IAPG as well. There has been some remarkable progress in the Rare Disease landscape in India thanks to the tireless efforts of people like Manjit and Prasanna. We need to take this to the next level now and make it an integral part of NHM

 

The global patient congress will be held in Miami in May 2018 in preparation for the UNHLM in September. I encourage those of you who wish to learn more to register for IAPO newsletter and keep yourself updated.

I am also planning for a patient congress mid 2018 in India. Will share more details as the plans become concrete

Heartiest congratulations on getting an opportunity to represent Indian patient organizations at an international platform. 

We appreciate efforts of advocates for Rare Diseases who have indeed overcome hurdles to get attention for these diseases.

I think it is also important to bring attention to diseases which are 'rare' because they are 'lesser known' and therefore remain under diagnosed. 

A Patient Congress next year sounds exciting. Looking forward to more on this.
