We're now just 2 weeks away from adjournment, and Springfield Democrats are trying to ram dangerous abortion legislation through the General Assembly before anyone has time to react. At this stage of session, bills move in hours, not days or weeks. There is now every indication Democrats are preparing to intensify their push for S.B. 4011 and H.B. 5408 -- legislation that would expand taxpayer-funded abortion programs in Illinois and stuff more of your tax dollars into the pockets of the abortion industry. If they're successful, Illinois taxpayers could soon be forced to bankroll even more abortions through a massive new abortion access funding program. And if we fail to stop them in these final days, the abortion lobby will claim a mandate to push even more radical legislation next session. So please read the email below and then take immediate action to help us STOP S.B. 4011 and H.B. 5408 before session ends! And please understand: we cannot keep up this level of pressure in Springfield without emergency financial support right now. House Bill 5408 has PASSED the Illinois House and has now been sent over to the Senate! The Senate companion to this bill is S.B. 4011 -- a bill Illinois Pro-Life Action has been fighting all session long! So far, we have helped keep S.B. 4011 from moving. But now, with HB 5408 crossing over, the pressure is about to ramp up in a big way. This is exactly how these fights escalate. What starts in one chamber can quickly become a full-blown push to ram dangerous legislation through both chambers before anyone has time to react. Make no mistake: this is a coordinated effort. If they can’t move one bill, they will try another path. If they can’t get it through the Senate first, they’ll send it from the House and try to force it through that way. That means one thing for us: We must DOUBLE the pressure on the Illinois Senate right now. Because if either S.B. 4011 or HB 5408 starts moving in the Senate, we could be looking at a fast-track push to get this across the finish line before the session ends.
