my profile seems to have been reset ... lost my progression, my saved loads in aesenal, and the worst, as a regular player of KOTH (king of the hill), my level been reset to level 1, lost all my money (+500K), weapons, scopes, launcher that i've bought progressively by hundreds of hours played.
So I jumped onto arma 3 tonight for some I&A when I found myself being bombared with pop-ups related to playing arma 3 for the first time, prompting me to do the bootcamp missions even though they were already completed. So I checked my profile and found everything had been set to default
did you make a new profile within the game? did you install arma on a new computer? if so you might not have moved your profile. i also once lost my whole arsenal for no reason. and i have no idea why
Apparently, there is nothing that can be done about this. But, is there a way to prevent this from happening in the future? Can I make a profile back-up somehow? I'm willing to regain the lost cash and whatnot, but what are the thoughts on getting all that back?
In your Documents folder, there should be an Arma 3 folder. Inside you should find a bunch of folders and two files: yourprofilename.Arma3Profile yourprofilename.vars.Arma3Profile Those two are the files which have all the settings. The folders have some things like missions, mission save-states and such. Now create a new folder inside your Documents folder and call it Arma 3 - Other Profiles Inside of that, create a new folder called yournewprofilename Copy everything in there and then rename the two files to: yournewprofilename.Arma3Profile yournewprofilename.vars.Arma3Profile In case this doesn't work, you won't lose anything in your old profile. Edit: If you want spaces in your profile name, use %20. So instead of Random Hero you type Random%20Hero. You will have to switch to your new profile ingame.
Yours will not have Stanhope in them but your profile name. Those 3 files contain all your profile settings/preferences/... Copy paste those files into a seperate folder, preferably not in a profile folder, for example:
3: As a little bonus:
If you want to copy a profile you can create a new one in arma and copy paste those 3 files into your new profile folder. Rename them so they have the same nickname and you copy pasted your profile. (There are a few other ways of doing this but this is how I do it.)
Arma 3 profiles and arma3sync profiles are not the same thing. Your issue is with arma 3 sync, please ask your question in one of the topic I've linked above. This for 2 reasons: 1 to keep this topic on topic and 2 people with similar issues as you won't look for the answer in the wrong place, they'll look in the right place, so one of the topics I've linked above.
