Hi Raptors,

I hope you had a good spring break and are excited for the Traverse City FIRST Robotics District Competition starting on Thursday.

This event is a challenge to organize so I need everyone's help to pull this off.

Our first job is to unload the trailer and start setting up the field on Wednesday, April 5. Please plan on coming to the gym at 9 pm on Wednesday. I am hoping that we can start earlier but for now, plan on 9 pm.

Thursday, April 6 is when we complete the field and set up the pits. Students, you are not excused from any classes on Thursday, but Mr. Sorenson's classes will be helping with the setup. If you are in another class and your teacher is OK with you going to the gym to help, then you may go but I am not officially excusing anyone on Thursday. Parents and mentors, if you are free on Thursday, please come and help.

Pits open at 5 pm on Thursday. No one including the Raptors will be allowed to set up their pit until 5 pm on Thursday. Pits close at 10 pm on Thursday.

On Friday, April 7, the pits open at 7:30 am. Throughout the day, you may be asked to do something to help with the event. Be prepared to help. The pits are scheduled to close at 7:30 pm on Friday but it will probably be later than that. Unless you received an email from me tonight, you are eligible and excused from all your classes on Friday. You certainly can attend any classes you want on Friday as long as you are eligible and did not receive an email from me tonight.

On Saturday, April 8, the pits open at 8:00 am. After the awards ceremony, all Raptors should plan to stick around to help with the field breakdown and cleanup. The more help we have, the sooner we can leave.

More information about lunches to follow. Friday's lunch will most likely be on your own. Saturday, we hope to do a team lunch.

Parents and students, we will need some help in the concession stand after school Friday and all day on Saturday. More information to follow.
