Just updated my OS X yosemite 10.10.5 and now my raptor won't work!

So basically when i try to run Raptor I get a message "to view this web content, you need to install the java runtime environment" click more info or ok. I've gone through the java update process and upon finishing it just loops me around to the beginning telling me I need to update again. 

any suggestions?

Hi,

unfortunately Raptor is unmaintained project right now, so I cannot really help you except suggest to try to use older versions of Raptor.

I hit the same problem. I updated Java after updating OS X to El Capitan 10.11 to no avail. I added the JDK package 8u60 and it now doesn't give the message but won't start either. I can't run Jin either, but get a different message to install an older Java version. 

I had no problems with 10.10 as I recall, but had to install Java through the website choices instead of the automated Oracle site. You might also try through the Apple support pages. https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US
