But before we go into my list, let me be honest and say that some were amazing, some were good, and some were just uh, o-kay. But nevertheless, I still enjoyed all of them and therefore I think they are still worth mentioning here. ?

If you will also notice, I have attached links to their websites. These will give you more specifics like addresses and contact numbers that you might need as reference later on. These will also show you better quality photos that these wonderful desserts deserve.

This dessert is an example of something simple and yet so good, because the best kind of ingredients were used. Even though there were more interesting desserts on the menu that day, the chocoholic in me still could not refuse a classic Chocolate Souffle! ?

If you have been reading my blog for quite some time now, you would know that I like pairing strawberries with my chocolates. Without fail, the combination of both flavors excite me! (I first wrote about these 2 favorites of mine in this post : Of Strawberries and Chocolates.)

The next two desserts that follow prove my love for this powerful combo (and that I can have it again and again is an understatement). Yes, another pair of chocolate and strawberry dessert that I had, on another day in the city! ?

This was good, no actually, this was much better than the Molten Chocolate Cake from the same place. Made of their house made Strawberry Shortcake that has been cut up in cubes, then mixed in with some fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream, this proved to be the redeeming factor in my dessert quest that night.

My second dessert from the same restaurant is something I love, but I would still prefer eating my yogurt during breakfast and not for dessert. I love yogurt as some of you already know (if you are following me on Instagram and Twitter, you would see the many kinds of yogurt I have had recently). This in fact has become my breakfast staple ever since I discovered the simple joys of eating it, and the many benefits I get from this super health food. (Check my previous post here to see.)

As I have mentioned above, these 2 desserts were AMAZING! From the high quality of the ingredients used to the way it was made, to the interplay of flavors in each dish, down to the beautiful plating, every detail was worth remembering. If for these desserts alone, this restaurant definitely deserves all its stars and ratings! ?

Lady M is one of the first purveyors of this multi-layered crepe cake that this has been their most famous and signature creation to date. Because it has been well-received publicly, they have come up with other amazing flavors too like Green Tea, Citron, and Strawberry among many others. Check their website here to see their other mouth-watering and delicious cakes.

It was here in Masa, this highly-acclaimed and most exclusive Japanese restaurant in NYC, that I had one of my most memorable dinners to date. And this dessert surprise at the end (for how did they know that I have fallen in love with Lady M?) was just the perfect way to end it! ?

Great food, impeccable service, and my experience of meeting, having a photograph and a conversation with the elusive Chef Masa were all part of this one incredible experience. These are more than enough to make me conclude that yes, this has been my best meal yet in New York City.

We made the guests some mummy candy bars. We made those by first taking a rectangle of black cardboard paper and glueing two google eyes on it. Then we glued them onto the candy bar (a regular sized Hershey bar).

Then we took some white streamers about 72 inches in length for each candy bar. Then we glued on end of the streamer onto the bottom of the candy bar wrapper and then simply wrap up the candy bar. When finished glue the other end of the streamer to hold it in place.

We wrapped up some Gatorade and made some mummy drinks for the kids too. My son wanted to play capture the flag with marshmallow guns (for more about marshmallow guns see this post). They had so much fun. Then when the game was finished, the boys came in and made their own individual mummy pizzas. You could also include some Mummy Oreo Pops or make these fun bendable Mummy dolls.

And finally, we made some mummy pretzels to go in the take home goody bags. These are super simple too. We took a pretzel rod and dipped it into chocolate. Then when the chocolate had hardened we added some eyes.

Oh Amy, you have so wonderful ideas. If only I was an October birthday ;-) Your little mummies are not scary at all and they look so cute!
As for Spain, tomorrow is a festivity in which we celebrate All Saints' Day. It's the day in which we go to the cemetery to visit our relatives. It's not a happy day at all but on the other hand there are wonderful desserts just for that day ;-)

Adorable. I cease to be surprised, when I see a truly adorable or brilliant idea, that is has come from you. Your site is inspirational and full of unique and great ideas. I love looking around and feeling the creative juices swell inside of me. Thank you so much!

Posted April 9, 2011 at 5:48 PMI've heard great things about the Mummy, but I absolutely HATE roller coasters. On a scale of 1-10, how bad are the roller coaster elements of the ride. I'm not worried about the special effects, just big drops and stuff. I know it goes backwards, so that doesn't help much... (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle []).push();From Nick Markham
Posted April 9, 2011 at 5:53 PMThe roller coaster is 30 ft. tall in reality and does not have big drops. The ride lasts fairly short, but it will try to make you think you are going through big drops.Just take a look at the hollywood verson with the lights on. The part you would be concerned with (the in the dark drops part) is similar. From Anthony Murphy
Posted April 9, 2011 at 6:42 PM5 at best. Its really not much of a roller coaster! I would compare it more to Indy or Dinosaur. From Terri Pierce
Posted April 9, 2011 at 9:27 PMIts not a super coaster or anything. I love this ride but its because it is so well done. Intemidation factor is 6 or 7 at best. The track has mild drops and no gut dropping terror. From Andy Milio
Posted April 10, 2011 at 10:25 AMIs there that feeling where you feel like your stomach is getting knotted up?From Terri Pierce
Posted April 10, 2011 at 11:04 AMKnotted? No. Elevator, yes. There is one drop that stays true in my memory more than any other and its a drop in pure darkness that makes my stomach feel like Im on an elevator but it lasts less than a second. I will say though, I am a trill ride junky. I drive the free falls, the coasters, and will try ANYTHING once. Well--- not bungee jumping. From Daniel Etcheberry
Posted April 10, 2011 at 12:36 PMI am afraid of roller coasters, but when this coaster was over, I had a smile on my face.I would give it a 5. The backward part is short and not that bad.The launch is sudden and fast, but afterwards you won't feel strong forces. Just keep your eyes open to see the cool effects.I am glad I had the experience, so I say go for it! From Andy Milio
Posted April 11, 2011 at 4:27 AMTerri, I can stand elevators
Daniel, thanks, that really helped :)From Lauren Hayhurst
Posted April 12, 2011 at 4:29 AMHey Andy! I JUST got back from Florida (currently trying to survive my first day back at work!) and rode the Mummy on Friday last week. It was even better than I remembered and had more coaster elements than I thought. However, I agree that it's more in line with Indy or Dino. For me, the coaster part felt more exhilorating due to the effects and build-up that preceded it - and as already mentioned, it's in the dark so the drops are enhanced, but it is in no way comparable to Rip Ride Rocket or the Hulk for example. On the fear factor scale I would rate it a 6. Go for it!From Tony Duda
Posted April 12, 2011 at 9:39 PMThe roller coaster seems more like just the way to move you from scene to scene which are the exciting and scary parts of the ride. The coaster, by itself, is kind of mild but it is quite exciting in conjunction with the scenes. From Andy Milio
Posted April 13, 2011 at 4:04 AMLauren, sounds good! Thanks a ton! From Terri Pierce
Posted April 14, 2011 at 1:10 PMAndy, so I was just talking to my teacher about the expansions at disney. He lived in Orlando for quite some time and went to the parks often. I was telling him about Snow White closing and told him it was being replaced by the new coaster. He looked at me with a "seriously" face. Apparently he dislikes coasters. He says he can handle Space Mountain and other coasters similar. Then I said so you can handle ones like Mummy which aren't too intense? He went wide eyes and said NO! He apparently did not like it at all. He thought it was a dark ride or a simulator.... so he wasn't prepared for a coaster... that didn't help much. He also felt that is was "very intense" even though it only goes 40MPH. I hate to discourage anyone from riding a ride, but I just wanted to give you the heads up. Everyone is different and it may have just been that he wasn't ready for a coaster at that time. Who knows. You may or may not like it. If you are feeling brave that day give it a try... if not, at least queue for it with your friends/family-- it's a great atmosphere! From Andy Milio
Posted April 14, 2011 at 2:20 PMTerri, aaaaah. I've just lost some of my bravery :P I'm still not sure, there's good and bad for it. I'll just think about itFrom Terri Pierce
Posted April 14, 2011 at 9:40 PMSorrrrry! :( I would just feel horrible if I was like YEAHHH it's no big deal! and you wet your pants. Okay, not going to go that far but you know what I mean! From Mike Seary
Posted April 15, 2011 at 8:58 PMIts not terrible at all.-most of the 'drops' are really just quick bunny-hops designed to get your gut a little; you'd barely notice them if the lights were on and you could see them.-The darkness intensifies the sensation of speed and height, but in reality you are not moving any faster than on, say, Big Thunder across the street at WDW. Actually, the drops on BT are larger.-There is one LIM launch which is a bit exciting, but the scene leading up to it basically prepares you for it.I am sure you would enjoy it just fine, in fact I took my 64 y/o mother on it last summer and she enjoyed it immensely (some context: she REFUSES to ride Space Mountain ever since it terrified her in her 20s).From Andy Milio
