Federal statistics are essential to inform private and public decision-making across our Nation. Thirteen principal Federal statistical agencies and three recognized statistical units (agencies whose principal mission is to produce official Federal statistics) are joined by over 100 other Federal programs in statistical activities spanning measurement, information collection, statistical products, data management, and dissemination.

OMB Statistical Policy Directives identify minimum requirements for Federal principal statistical agencies when they engage in statistical activities. Business process coordination and decision making through the use of information technology will be explored, emphasizing IT use by organizations in increasingly global markets. Students are limited to three attempts for this course, excluding withdrawals.

This course is an introduction to the field of operations management and addresses the design and management of the activities and resources that a firm uses to produce and deliver its products or services. Topics include operations strategy, product and process design, total quality management, statistical quality control, supply chain management, location analysis, forecasting, inventory management, operations planning, and lean/JIT business processes. Computing proficiency is required for a passing grade in this course. Students are limited to three attempts for this course, excluding withdrawals.

Introduction to the use of basic statistical concepts in business applications. Topics include extensive graphing; descriptive statistics; measures of central tendency and variation; regression, including transformations for curvature; sampling techniques; designs; conditional probability; random variables; probability distributions; sampling distributions; confidence intervals; and statistical inference. Computer software applications are utilized extensively. Emphasis throughout the course in on interpretation. Computing proficiency is required for a passing grade in this course. Students are limited to three attempts for this course, excluding withdrawals.

Financial institutions offering FMDs are required to report details of the FMDs they hold at the end of a month to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Reports must be submitted by close of business on the 10th calendar day of the following month. The department endeavours to release a summary of these statistics by the 15th calendar day of each month. The department cannot prepare a summary of the statistics until it has received returns from all relevant financial institutions.

*The FMD statistics reports for October 2017 to April 2018 were revised in June 2018, following the lodgment from one financial institution of revised returns with FMD accounts and holdings that were missing when the returns were originally lodged.

**The FMD statistics reports for July 2014 to August 2015 were revised in February 2016, following the lodgment from one financial institution of revised returns with corrected ANZSIC codes (industry types).
