Bespectacled and sporting a gray pixie cut and an infectious giggle, Mary sat in front of a wall of theological books looking strong and athletic. I assumed she had good genes, but she immediately set me straight.

Making so many friends has helped her create a support group as she ticked off sections of the ADT, allowing her to hike shorter distances before being resupplied (thus carrying less weight) or slackpack.

Still, Mary is a meticulous planner. Part of the reason is that as a section hiker, she needs to meet a plane at a particular time and at a particular place. Also, as an older hiker, she wants to know ahead of time what the conditions will be, like elevation gain and loss, to ensure she can complete a section.

And just last week I told myself at age 62 i would be too old to do the triple crown, lol. This article now has me thinking to just go for it. I am 59 right now and have 3 more years to retirement and hopefully I will catch up to Mary.

In today's episode of BackpackerRadio presented by The Trek, we are joined once again byQuadzilla. We of course go deep on his calendar year triplecrown from last year, getting a play-by-play of his standouthighlights, lowlights, and everything in between from his epic8,000-mile adventure. Much like Quadzilla's first appearance, thisone is full of sage advice for on trail and off, including how hehandles isolationism, dealing with the doldrums, and the importanceof staying present. This one of course does notdisappoint.

From the Appalachian Trail to the Pacific Crest and everything in between. Backpacker Radio is a show all about the wonderful world that is thru-hiking and long distance backpacking. Co-hosts, Zach "Badger" Davis and Juliana "Chaunce" Chauncey muse on the backpacking life and the latest from the trail every other week. Topics include but are not limited to news, trail culture, interviews, gear, advice, and all you can eat buffets.

The chapter is so proud of Jalyn Klopfenstein, Tyler Schlatter, and Grace Goyings for all of their hard work in earning a triple crown for their chapter. For the secretary book, Jalyn had to collect all of the meeting minutes and agendas for the year. She also had to write programs for the activities, keep attendance records, and collect correspondence from this school year.

For the reporter book, Grace wrote and then collected newspaper articles and pictures throughout the year to use in the scrapbook. She had to put captions under all the pictures she used and make sure that every page was full of colors and decorative stickers. These officers did an amazing job and our chapter is very proud of all of the hard work that they put into their books. They will each get to walk across the stage at the Ohio FFA State Convention in May for their Gold Ratings.

St John Lutheran Church, Hicksville, Ohio held the rite of Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday. Minister Alex Heffelfinger confirmed McKenna Baird, daughter of Ken & Tiffanie Baird and Rylee Chrisman son of Chad & Jennifer Kurtz. A fellowship time after the service was in their honor.
