We are starting an external application using a shell command and the application is always moved to the Background because the XIBO Client always comes back to top. Is there some Workaround to prevent xibo from always staying on top?
It could be implemented as option to let the user choose if the application should always be on top.
Any idea how to solve this?
Hello is there a solution that Xibo is not allways on top? I updated our system from 1.7 to 2.1 now and now i have the problem on our windows clients that Xibo is always on top. We are using in our stores PCs with two displays and one of the displays is a customer screen. So if our worker want to show something to our customers they push the browser window to the customer screen and in the rest of the time our advertisements run there. Now Xibo is over the browser window and there is no possibility to change it. I also activated the mouse cursor which enabled the browser window under Xibo 1.7 but now i only see the mouse cursor and no browser window. Is there perhaps a registry hack to stop this?
Was looking for this. Just checked the library of an client we have been using for a while now. Only the mp4 files that where uploaded yesterday and today where there. The rest of the content (uploaded in the first week of January 2017) was already removed.
Is there any way to force the client to clean up sooner? We have clients running on 32GB Intel Compute Sticks, and they are running out of space because we push a new video every minute. I know this sounds crazy, but there is still a need to clean up the content every day vs every 7 days or so.
Hello, I created a CMS trial on the cloud. everything works well with my Tizen.
My question what additional port should I open to be able to communicate my server with Tizen? Communication with Windows clients works well on my network. ports 80 and 443 are open. and the server is not accessible outside my network.
Hello, the CMS is at version 2.2.0.
what i did after i got the menu where i got the CMS information and the key. I put the information of my Onpremise server and not the one you trial cloud. so I managed to configure the screen and approve it on the CMS.
Is it possible that version 2.2.0 can cause connection blocking with the TV (connexion step)? on both CMS I add the trial version of Tizen or the fact that my CMS communicates only from inside my network to block the process of sending files to the screen.
I also noticed that the download speed of a video that was sent to the screen was very low (2 hours). however the same video was downloaded by a Windows client in 3 min. Also the video does not loop. once it makes the first turns it stops. on Windows Client it loops in content as expected. when I display a compain there is a time of 0.5 seconds between each layout that appears during which it is the default layout is displayed. it seems to me that the speed of the TV processor is not very efficient with the xibo client. Has anyone else had similar cases?

EDIT: I should probably mention that the other display running the same campaign has not run into this error (yet). The display with the error, Display A, is running a version of the client that checks for null reference error in Media.cs. It is also running Intel graphics drivers that came with the pc. Display B, the one with no errors, is running an unaltered 1.7.6 client, and updated Intel graphics drivers. They have been running the same length of time. I will let them run over the weekend and see if it shows up on Display B as well.
Needless to say I will be very keen to try the ubuntu version of the player client when it is ready for release and get away from Windows. If anyone has any ideas on what to do next please let me know.

I have a problem playing a mp4 video and wmv. the problem goes like this i play a swf file chang the layout to the mp4 video and the xibo client goes back to the banner and nothing plays i close the client and when i try to re open i twont open not even the client options i have to try several times to open either client or client options for it to run again and then the mp4 video plays
The client will need some time to download the video you are asking it to play (unless it is already in the schedule). You should make your default layout something that you are OK to show on the screen, so that the client goes back to the default as it downloads the new content.
I support a large fleet of unattended devices, that run Xibo on a secondary top monitor. The solution works great, however the CMS and clients have been running on 1.6.0 since it came out, and an upgrade is way overdue. Because of the size of the fleet (1000+), doing an uninstall and reinstall of the new client on each device is not my first approach. I have been able to install the client and set configuration on one device, and then copy the xibo folder and create a deployment package to send to the other devices. I have written a VBscript to modify the configuration file, and use the computer names as the device name and the last part of the hardware key so that every device is unique.
Hopefully my rambling has been clear. If there is a way to no have the configuration files in the user\app data folders, then I would really like to know how. That way, not matter what user account logs in, xibo knows its settings.
Ive had some success installing the windows client using WINE, the only thing that doesnt work is videos and Im not sure why. If all development has been stopped on the linux client which seems to be the case, maybe thats a road that could save on development time without abandoning the linux player side. Most of us do not want yo use windows for our player machines.
The Intel NUC model you mention in your message has not been officially tested, so I cannot say for sure if this will be appropriate for your digital signage setup. I was also unsure from your message if you intend to run the CMS server and clients on a single NUC together, or if each will have their own device. Looking at the spec of the device, I would expect you would need a unit for your server and another for each player.
Thank you for the update on your proposed setup. Running both the Server and client on the same machine is indeed possible, whether this will be provide stable performance on the NUC you plan to use is hard to say, as the hardware spec in your original message may not be high enough.
Yes I know, just wanted to install xibo on a webserver no docker. Found on google xibo-cms (content management system) install ubuntu. I also unstalled xibo years ago.

You are correct with what you are saying however for some reason to display in the second screen you must manually set the resolution in the display profile to your respective width & height for it to work. If you leave it at 0 (full width or whatever it says) it will only display in the first window. So set that in the profile and then restart your client a couple times for it to take effect.

I only tried a layout with 2 pictures (no videos due to performance issues) and a text zone in the bottom. The 2 pictures zone could show perfectly, but the text zone could not. The reason is that the text is converted to an html file (accessible in /opt/xibo/pyclient/client/python/data) . So even for text display, the Berkelium library is needed contrary to what I expected initially. So finally, I converted the text zone into a picture zone in order to achieve the result below.

But, how can insert the command on ubuntu to automatic launch the xibo client every time the system startup ?
Great job getting Xibo to work on ARM. However, I am wondering if it is possible to get it working on Android (with ARMv7) instead of ALIP as in this article? Do you think it is possible to wrap up your ARM versions of libavg and Berkelium using NDK and run the client in SL4A (python)? It sounds like dependency hell to me though. I am new to Android so I would really appreciate your advice, any advice.
