Hi,

You're receiving this email because you've been in touch with Rahul,
Sam or myself about building Raplets for Gmail, using Rapportive.
Thank you for being part of our developer program!

Several things are new today:

1. Mailing lists for the Raplet community
2. New Raplet feature and updated documentation
3. Raplet security and best practices

--------------------------------------------------

1. MAILING LISTS

Until now, we have been keeping one-to-one contact with our Raplet
developers to get to know each other and give support. It has been
very exciting to see what you have been building! Since there are now
over 50 Raplet developers, we would like to open our community and
allow you share your thoughts and ideas about integrating your
applications with Rapportive.

As of today, we have two new mailing lists:

– raplet-announce — http://groups.google.com/group/raplet-announce
is the place where we will announce updates to the Raplet platform
from now on. There will be only very occasional messages, maybe one or
two a month. I strongly recommend that you subscribe, even if you
don't have time to develop a Raplet right now, so that you can stay
up-to-date with our developments.

– raplet-dev — http://groups.google.com/group/raplet-dev — is the
place for Raplet developers to discuss all aspects of Raplets.
Questions, feedback and stories of your own Raplets are most welcome.
Please share your experiences for the benefit of other developers!
Once you have signed up, you can post to the list by emailing
raple...@googlegroups.com.

I will send you invitations to both lists shortly after this email.
Please feel free to accept whichever you would like.

--------------------------------------------------

2. UPDATED DOCUMENTATION

Based on your requests and feedback, we have substantially expanded
the Raplet developer documentation, and I attach the latest version.
Your existing Raplets will continue to work, but we have added a few
features and we give some more guidance on good Raplet design. (Please
see the last page for a list of changes.)

Future updates to the documentation will be published on the mailing
lists, so please tune in there. We will also give plenty of notice on
the mailing lists if we ever have to deprecate or remove a feature.

--------------------------------------------------

3. RAPLET SECURITY

For those of you whose Raplet deals with potentially sensitive data
(e.g. CRM or customer data), we would like to advise you of some new
security features in Rapportive to help safeguard your data. They are
explained in detail in the attached documentation, and we encourage
you to make use of them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email the raplet-dev
list, and we will respond there for the benefit of all Raplet
developers. And we look forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,
Martin
