Hi Steve!

While installing rapidSTORM in Mint 17 (Qiana) I had problems with some dependencies related to c++ libraries...Specifically with libboost 1.53.....
This is what I get after "apt-get install raipstorm":

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
rapidstorm : Depends: libboost-filesystem1.53.0 but it is not installable
Depends: libboost-system1.53.0 but it is not installable
Depends: libboost-test1.53.0 but it is not installable
Depends: libboost-thread1.53.0 but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

I checked in the repositories of Qiana and I can install libboost 1.54 (of course this didn't solve the problem) and as I read in some forums installing libboost 1.53 in Qiana might crash your system

So my question is:

Although Qiana is based in Ubuntu 14.04 is it not possible to run rapidSTORM on it?
Should I install the previous version of libboost?

Thank you in advance!!

Hi Pablo,

sure you added the "trusty" (14.04) packages to your sources.list? The trusty package depends on boost 1.54:

 new debian package, version 2.0.
size 1736090 bytes: control archive=1130 bytes.

     160 bytes,     5 lines   *  postrm               #!/bin/sh

you were right....I had followed the instructions at the web-page (www.super-resolution.de) and edited my source-list file just adding the repositories for "saucy"

changing them to "trusty" solved the problem

Thanks!!
Best
Pablo
