+CME ERROR 13 - SIM FAILURE

Hi Group,

Am trying to connect a HiLink Modem to the SMS Kannel but am getting the error above,

The modem is using the new generation SIM cards.

Is there a way around this?

First solution I can recommend is to install Minicom and test your modem to see it it accepts those AT commands that are producing errors in your system:

eg. AT+CPIN, AT+IFC=2,... 

Also, you may chose modems that actually are tested to work with AT protocol [https://wammu.eu/phones/ ]
