USB MODE SWITCH FOR E3531

I have a HUAWEI Modem E3531 Modem Dongle .

I am not able to switch it to usb_mode using usb_modeswitch -b2 -W -v 12d1 -p 14dc -n –message-content 555342437f0000000002000080000a11062000000000000100000000000000.

Product ID is 12d1:14dc

What are the switching rules or how do I achieve this? I am using Ubuntu 16.04 and i need to access the modem like on ttyUSBx . So that in kannel.conf i can point to it say at ttyUSB2.

If you want to use Kannel with a modem, you need to see if it support the AT commands ( https://wammu.eu/phones/ ) and do some settings like the one done in here. 

But most of the time if you do a 

# wvdialconf

it shows you what you need to put in the kannel.conf file.
