Configure rapidsms to work with a SMS Provider that works with SOAP/WSDL Web Services

Hi rapidsms devs:

We want to integrate with a SMS provider that only expose web services SOAP/WSDL as endpoint, how can we configure rapidsms to work with this SMS provider?

Hi there,

You'll need to write a custom backend to work with your endpoint. For examples, you might want to review the vumi and kannel backends that ship with RapidSMS.

Good luck, and please consider publishing your backend as a 3rd party reusable app (for example, see Caktus' Twilio backend)!

Depending on your needs, you may want to look at using Vumi as the RapidSMS backend and implementing a Vumi Transport to connect to your provider. Vumi already has a number of transports you can model yours on:
