Hi everyone
I manage to install Rapidpro7 on ubuntu 24.04.
I have 2 servers, one running postgres db and the other running everything to do with rapidpro. I was having courier issue but I just changed courier.toml database line to point to my database server and sorted.

Now I am facing this error below for Mailroom:
sudo journalctl -u mailroom -f
Aug 05 09:21:01 ip-172-31-17-100 mailroom[2284]: time="2025-08-05T09:21:01Z" level=error msg="error while running cron" cron=retry_errored_messages error="error fetching errored messages to retry: error querying msgs: pq: password authentication failed for user \"temba\"" lock=Ydb3Ql1b/T lockName="lock:retry_errored_messages_lock"
Aug 05 09:21:02 ip-172-31-17-100 mailroom[2284]: time="2025-08-05T09:21:02Z" level=error msg="error while running cron" cron=expire_ivr_calls error="error querying for expired waits: pq: password authentication failed for user \"temba\"" lock=DPa15jvWtY lockName="lock:expire_ivr_calls_lock"

Kindly assist.

Hi Gift,

Please confirm that the password for the user temba is correctly set. If you followed the development installation instructions, the password should be temba.

For reference, here’s the most up-to-date guide for installing and running RapidPro: https://riseuplabs.com/rapidpro-installation-guide/

Also, please note that you’re currently running a very old version of RapidPro. The latest stable Nyaruka release is v10.2.1, which operates under the Business Source License 1.1. Upgrading is highly recommended.

If you want to try the stable Nyaruka version you can use their docker version

Best regards,

Ronald

Hi Gift

You would need to do the same database config for mailroom (they both need to point to the same database).

You can see the configuration docs here: https://github.com/nyaruka/mailroom?tab=readme-ov-file#configuration , I think it will be "db" in the config file, or MAILROOM_DB as an environment variable.

Regards,
Rudi
