<<opening up this thread to the rapidftr group>>

A cpl of ideas that I could think of based on my observations of similar open source implementations

1. Creating a download tab on the main menu of RapidFTR (or a suitable location on RapidFTR), which upon clicking will lead user to a page that will have linksto the various download options for each of categories (mobile and web).

2. Supporting documentation that will be made available on download page that will guide users - For eg:
  1. Initial customization they would need to get the web app functional [eg: System language settings, timezones, setting up roles and users]
  2. Software and Hardware pre-requisites
  3. FAQs
3. Sample data that they could download to play and test the application with

4. Links to previous releases

5. Updated video demo
  • Step-by-Step Installation walk-thru
  • Demo of registration and sync using Android phone (currently RapidFTR.com hosts a video for blackberry)
  • Demo of registration and other activities using web app

6. Link to Github Repo, IRC and google groups for troubleshooting queries

Hi folks,

Seeing that we are just about done with the functionality for this release (Akash today picked up the last story #1804) we need to start thinking about what we need to get in place to 'package' this version of RapidFTR. The end goal should be that anyone, with no prior contact from TW or UNICEF, should be able to download (the installers/APK) and install RapidFTR straight off rapidftr.com by just following the instructions on the site.

So please drop what tech tasks we need to prep for this release in this thread and the complied list will then be passed on to Cary.

Matt

On second thought, I would recommend having a separate link for Demo in the main menu, along with Download. For some reason I am not seeing the blackberry demo on Rapidftr.com. But, nevertheless it would be good to have Android demo videos on the 'DEMO' link that shows using the mobile app and web app.

The installation walkthru videos (if other community members also feel that it will add value) - can be part of the Download page.
